The 3rd Annual No Budget Film Festival Screening (Main Event)
August 26th, 7:00pm
at The Downtown Independent
What is it?: In a day and age where a million dollar budget and a cast of sitcom stars still counts as “independent spirit” cARTel brings the last indie film fest to The Downtown Independent this August 26th.
Events: Just because you got no-budget, doesn’t mean you don’t have style. Opening with a bang in typical fest fashion, the night begins with our indie stars gracing our red carpet in the heart of downtown.
Where: The Downtown Independent- the lifeblood of LA’s independent cinema scene is yet again host to our rag tag crew of renegade artists.
The Awards: Our films in competition will be eligible for lots of prizes, including awards in Jury and Audience Choice categories. Last year’s event was oversold out- don’t miss your chance to see and cast your vote for the next big thing!

It’s all happening, and it’s all happening at one of the coolest venues in LA: The Last Bookstore.

There Goes The Neighborhood (Gallery Party)
August 25th, 5:00-10:00pm
at The cARTel House (email us to get the address!)
It’s official: 2012 not only marks the biggest NBFF yet, it also marks cARTel’s official move into its new space right in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles! Join us as we celebrate original art created specifically for this year’s films as well as a party to celebrate our new DTLA home.
For the first time in NBFF history, we are commissioning artists to create original pieces inspired by one of our selected films- be it a poster, painting, or even sculpture. This year’s Gallery Party will not only feature the resulting one-of-a-kind artwork, but will also serve as a screening space for some of the honorable mentions, as well as serve as the grand opening of cARTel’s new Downtown LA home. Come join us as we kick-off a new festival and new beginnings in our new space. Come mingle with your fellow No Budget attendees as well as filmmakers and special guests, as we gear up for the festival and celebrate cARTel becoming a permanent fixture in the DTLA scene.
