Now hiring for THE 5th ANNUAL NO BUDGET FILM FESTIVAL

We’re seeking spirited film lovers who thrive on teamwork, humor, and a passion for film and community. Come help us put together L.A.’s most adventurous independent film experience- The No Budget Film Festival. A critically acclaimed, industry studded event- we’re seeking cinema obsessives of all stripes to round out our 2014 festival team. Positions begin in August unless otherwise stated. These are seasonal, stipended positions. If you're looking for an LA Art Family- we could be it.

Job Descriptions:

NO BUDGET FILM FESTIVAL POSITIONS

SPECIAL EVENTS DIRECTOR

  • Head all logistics and planning of NBFF’s social and networking events during the festival.
  • Working in conjunction with Aesthetics Director to ensure all events are in line with NBFF’s visual story
  • Venue and product management, ensuring receipt and delivery of special events needs such as overseeing build and food and beverage service; Coordinating across departments to ensure product is vended in accordance with contracts
  • Managing Special Events team and volunteers

OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE

  • Support Operations Team in execution of festival production needs. Jobs will include handling all printed materials, movie posters, overseeing deliveries, event set up and break down, and more.
  • Reports to Operations Director
  • Must be adept at multitasking, thinking on your feet, and comfortable doing off-site runs

PUBLICITY MANAGER

  • Execute publicity strategy for the festival
  • Reports to Publicity Director
  • Composes Press Releases, handles press requests, and manages press coverage
  • Directs Red Carpet

PUBLICITY ASSOCIATE

  • Manages press coverage logs
  • Supports press needs, including check-in and badge requests
  • Supports press release strategy

MARKETING MANAGER

  • Supports Marketing/Media Team on the ground during festival
  • Executes Social Media Plan
  • Aids in execution of Media Partnerships and Client Relations

VIDEO TEAM

  • Event/concert videography experience a plus
  • Supports Video Director in shooting festival footage, including special events and interviews

SPONSORSHIP MANAGER (Starts in July)

  • Research, pitch, and execute new sponsorship deals as well as maintain prior relationships
  • Report to the Sponsorship Director and Festival Producers.
  • Ensure execution of deliverables cross departments
  • Sales background a plus.

BOX OFFICE DIRECTOR, (FRONT OF HOUSE) (Starts in October)

  • Prior festival box office/theater front of house experience a major plus
  • Must be adept at processing an audience of hundreds, including general public tickets and special access badges
  • Organized, with a focus on customer service and ability to provide VIP concierge service where needed.
  • Training and overseeing Front of House Staff

FILMMAKER LIAISON (Starts in October)

  • Coordinating all aspects of filmmaker experience at the festival from entry into the program through closing night
  • Must be organized, with a love of films and artists, and be able to manage the experience and attendance of filmmakers at events throughout the week
  • Work in conjunction with Special Events Director on Filmmaker Dinner logistics, and other duties as needed.

PROGRAMMING DIRECTOR (Starts in July)

  • Oversees entire programming team, over 4 categories including Narrative, Documentary, and Experimental.
  • Prior programming experience necessary
  • Demonstrated commitment to independent cinema and the development of new narratives
  • Research and outreach to potential filmmakers to ensure robust selection.

PROGRAMMER

  • Prior programming or screening experience mandatory
  • Love of films, and not afraid to voice your opinion
  • Desired: A specialty in one of the following- Narrative, Documentary, or Experimental.
  • Research and outreach to potential filmmakers to ensure robust selection.

  • Prior experience as a screener or script reader desired
  • Prior film writing mandatory, (coverage or film journalism accepted)
  • Supports programming team by screening and rating NBFF’s submissions

FILM TRAFFIC COORDINATOR

  • Facilitates the smooth and timely delivery of all films from cARTel to screening venues.
  • Works in conjunction with Tech Director to ensure format consistency and quality of films delivered
  • Troubleshoots problems with film delivery, play errors, and quality

  • Work to curate Jury members, panelists, and participants for our Industry Meet-and-Greet
  • Candidates with a healthy rolodex or existing industry connections highly preferred
  • Agency or Studio experience a plus
